Тренировочный вариант №2 составлен в соответствии со структурой ВПР 2027 по английскому языку для 8 класса. Работа включает задания по аудированию, чтению, грамматике и написанию электронного письма.

На выполнение проверочной работы рекомендуется отвести не более 45 минут. Сначала выполните все задания самостоятельно, а затем проверьте ответы и изучите подробные объяснения.

My first science competition

I had always enjoyed science lessons, but until last year I had never taken part in a science competition. I thought such events were only for students who could solve every problem immediately. Then our Physics teacher told us about a regional competition for school teams and encouraged us to enter.

Each team had to design a device that could protect a raw egg when it was dropped from a height. The device could be made from paper, cardboard, string and several other simple materials. Our teacher explained the rules but did not tell us how to solve the problem.

I joined a team with my classmates Anna and Mark. At our first meeting, we produced several ideas. Anna wanted to put the egg inside a large cardboard box, while Mark suggested making a parachute. I thought we should combine both ideas and use a small box with a paper parachute.

Our first model did not work. The parachute opened too late, and the egg broke when the box hit the floor. We were disappointed, but our teacher reminded us that unsuccessful experiments could provide useful information. We carefully examined the model and discovered that the parachute strings were too short.

During the next week, we tested four more versions. We changed the length of the strings, reduced the weight of the box and added soft paper around the egg. The final model fell slowly and protected the egg successfully during every test.

On the day of the competition, twenty teams gathered in a large school hall. Each device was dropped from a platform five metres above the floor. Our egg survived, but another team’s device landed closer to the marked target, so they received first prize. We finished second.

At first, I was slightly disappointed that we had not won. However, the judges praised our design and asked us several questions about our experiments. I realised that the most valuable part of the competition had been learning how to test ideas, identify problems and improve a design. I have already decided to enter another science competition next year.

Welcome to the Discovery Science Centre. It is situated in Hill Street, close to the city botanical garden. The centre will reopen next Monday after two weeks of repair work.

There are astronomy, chemistry and model-building classes for teenagers. Astronomy classes take place on Tuesdays and Fridays. Students study planets and stars and use the centre’s telescopes when the weather is clear.

Chemistry lessons are held on Mondays and Thursdays. Students carry out safe experiments under the supervision of a teacher. Every month, they can enter a chemistry competition. The winners receive science books and laboratory equipment.

Model-building lessons take place on Saturday afternoons. Students design bridges, towers and simple machines using wood, paper and recycled materials.

The centre also has a modern laboratory. On weekdays, it is open from nine in the morning until eight in the evening. At weekends, it closes at six.

Please remember that the laboratory is closed during July while new equipment is being installed. All classes will continue as usual.

В заданиях 1 и 2 за каждый правильно выбранный ответ начисляется 1 балл. В задании 3 по 1 баллу начисляется за каждое правильно преобразованное слово. Максимальный результат за каждое из заданий 1–3 — 5 баллов.

Электронное письмо оценивается по четырём критериям:

решение коммуникативной задачи — до 3 баллов;
организация текста — до 2 баллов;
лексико-грамматическое оформление — до 3 баллов;
орфография и пунктуация — до 2 баллов.

Если объём письма составляет менее 81 слова, ответ оценивается в 0 баллов по всем критериям. Если объём превышает 121 слово, проверяются только первые 110 слов.

Максимальный первичный балл за всю работу — 25.
