✅ Solutions
Task 1. Listening transcript (long version)
Girl: Hi Mark, have you thought about what you want to study after school?
Boy: A little. I’d like to study economics, maybe in another city.
Girl: Economics? Interesting. I’m thinking of computer science.
Boy: Why another city?
Girl: You don’t like our local university?
Boy: It’s fine, but I want to be independent. Living alone will teach me responsibility.
Girl: That makes sense. But it’s hard to choose the right subject.
Boy: True. Sometimes I feel lost — there are too many options.
Girl: And studying abroad is so expensive. I’d like to try, but it’s not realistic.
Boy: Yes, money is a problem. But I think the most important thing is to study hard, wherever you are.
Girl: I agree. Teachers and classmates matter more than the place.
Boy: Absolutely. So, what should we do next?
Girl: Let’s visit the university open day together. We can talk to students and professors.
Boy: Great idea! Then we’ll have more information to decide.
Girl: Perfect. Let’s ask our parents if they can come with us.
Boy: Sure. Next weekend?
Girl: Works for me.

Hello Jack,
Thanks for your letter. I usually spend time with my friends after school. We often go to the park, play football or just walk around the city. Sometimes we go to the cinema together, especially when a new film comes out. At weekends we like to meet at each other’s houses and play computer games. I think spending time with friends is important because it helps me relax and have fun after a busy week.
How often do you train in basketball? Do you play against other schools? Who is the best player in your team?
Write soon!
Best wishes,
Your friend
