✅ Solutions

Task 1. Listening transcript (long version)

Girl: Hey, what are you doing this Saturday?
Boy: I’m not sure yet. My parents want me to help in the garden, but honestly, I’d rather do something more exciting.
Girl: Oh no, garden work sounds boring. I was thinking about going to the cinema. A new comedy has just been released.
Boy: Hmm, the cinema? I’m not really in the mood for sitting in a dark hall. Plus, I still haven’t finished my school project.
Girl: Don’t tell me you’re going to spend the whole weekend on homework again!
Boy: Well, maybe not, but I don’t feel like shopping either. The mall is always so crowded.
Girl: True, but sometimes it’s fun to walk around and just look at the shops.
Boy: Not for me. Shopping is exhausting, and I already bought new trainers last week.
Girl: Okay, then what about meeting outdoors? We could walk in the park or play basketball.
Boy: That sounds better. Fresh air always helps. Where should we meet?
Girl: How about the sports centre? It’s close to my house.
Boy: Hmm, it’s a bit far for me. Let’s meet near the bus stop in the town centre.
Girl: Fair enough, that’s easier for both of us. What time shall we meet?
Boy: I was thinking around 11, but I might have to finish some chores.
Girl: Then let’s make it 1 pm. That way you’ll have plenty of time.
Boy: Perfect. And what do you want to do afterwards?
Girl: Well, after walking, maybe we can grab something to eat. I know a nice café near the park.
Boy: Great idea! I haven’t had lunch out for ages.
Girl: So, it’s decided then — meet at the bus stop at 1, go for a walk, and then lunch.
Boy: Deal! Finally, a weekend plan that sounds good.
Girl: See you Saturday then. Don’t forget to bring some money for the café.
Boy: Don’t worry, I will. Bye!
Girl: Bye!
