✅ Solutions

Task 1. Listening transcript (long version)

Boy: Hi Anna, are you ready for the school event?
Girl: Not yet, Max. We still have so much to do.
Boy: Yes, I know. Organising a concert is not easy.
Girl: Exactly. We need to check the programme and make sure all the performances are in order.
Boy: That’s what worries me. What if we forget something?
Girl: Don’t panic. Let’s make a list of things we need.
Boy: Good idea. I’ll write it down. So, music, decorations, invitations…
Girl: And don’t forget the lights and microphones.
Boy: Right. I’ll ask Mr Brown, our music teacher, to help.
Girl: When shall we have the final rehearsal?
Boy: How about Thursday afternoon?
Girl: No, we have lessons then. Let’s do it on Friday morning.
Boy: Perfect. Everyone will be free.
Girl: After the concert, we should do something fun.
Boy: Like what?
Girl: Maybe write an article for the school newspaper?
Boy: Or we could celebrate in a café.
Girl: Hmm, I like the idea of the article more. It will be a memory for everyone.
Boy: Okay, agreed. After the concert, we write about it.

Task 7. Writing — sample answer

Hello Lily,
Thanks for your letter. I really like sports, too. At school I usually play football with my classmates. Sometimes we organise small matches against other classes. I also enjoy swimming in the local pool, because it helps me stay healthy. In winter I like skiing with my family. Sports give me energy and help me relax after studying. I think it’s more fun to do sports with friends, but sometimes I also train alone.
How many players are in your volleyball team? Do you often take part in competitions? What prizes can your team win?

Best wishes,
Your friend
