Dear Kate,
I want to tell you about my winter holidays in Finland. It was my first time in this country, and it was wonderful.
We stayed in a small wooden house in the forest. It looked like something from a fairy tale, surrounded by snow-covered trees. Every morning we went skiing. At first it was difficult, but then I learned to ski quite well. My father even taught me some tricks!
One day we visited Santa Claus Village. It is a place where you can meet Santa, take photos with reindeer, and send letters from his official post office. I sent you a postcard from there — I hope you get it soon!
In the evenings we often sat by the fireplace. We drank hot chocolate, played board games, and talked. One night we went outside to watch the Northern Lights. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen — the sky was full of green and purple colours.
The food was also interesting. I tried salmon soup and different kinds of bread. I really enjoyed my holiday in Finland, and I want to go there again next winter.

Good morning, listeners! Here is some information about an exciting event in our city. This Saturday, the City Sports Centre will host an international swimming competition. Young athletes from different countries, including Russia, will take part. The event will start at 10 am and continue until 5 pm.
The competition includes races of different lengths: 50, 100, and 200 metres. Both boys and girls will compete. There will also be a relay race at the end of the day.
