✅ Solutions

Task 1. Listening transcript (long version)

Girl: Hi Dan, have you started working on the geography project?
Boy: Not really, Anna. I don’t even know where to begin.
Girl: Oh, come on, it’s not that hard. We just need to collect information about different climates.
Boy: That’s the problem. I forgot my notes at school, and now I’m worried we don’t have enough information.
Girl: Don’t worry. I’ve got plenty of material. We can use my notes and some online sources.
Boy: That’s a relief. But still, I find the topic a bit boring.
Girl: Really? I think it’s interesting to learn how people live in hot and cold countries.
Boy: Maybe, but I’d rather do something about history or literature.
Girl: Too late, this is our topic. Let’s divide the work. How about you do the introduction and I do the conclusion?
Boy: Or maybe I can collect pictures for the presentation while you prepare the text.
Girl: That works too. I’ll make the slides and you add the illustrations.
Boy: Good plan. When shall we meet to finish it?
Girl: What about Friday evening?
Boy: Sorry, I have football practice then. Saturday afternoon?
Girl: Fine by me. Where shall we meet?
Boy: My house?
Girl: No, too noisy there. Let’s meet at the school library — it’s quiet, and we can use the computers.
Boy: Okay, the library on Saturday afternoon it is.
Girl: Great, I’ll bring snacks so we don’t get hungry.
Boy: Thanks! I’ll bring my laptop. This will finally get us organised.
Girl: Perfect. See you Saturday.
Boy: See you!
